Rambo IV, Stallone’s Back In Action

Most of movie mania must be know Sylvester Stallone. Yes, the ‘Rambo Man’ is back, with another installment of Rambo, Rambo IV : Pearl of The Cobra. In this latest Rambo installment, the main character, John Rambo, still played by Sylvester Stallone, which is still look strong and charming in the age of 63, heehee… for an old man, he’s still good at fighting, running, battling, and he doesn’t look tired yet. Well, I have to admit, he’s fat, but his muscle’s still good… :D .

The movie opens with the narration of Karen Tribe holocaust in Burma, and then changed into situation in a rural village in Thailand, where Vietnam veteran soldier John Rambo (Sylvester Stallone) which has endured numerous torturing ordeals in his lifetime, retired into a simple-minded and cloistered existence in Bangkok, where he spends his time scavenging old motor torpedo boat and tanks for discarded metal. Even though he is looking to avoid trouble, trouble has a way of finding him. A group of Christian human rights missioners, headed by Michael Burnett (Paul Schulze) and Sarah Miller (Julie Benz), approaching Rambo with the hope to rent his boat to move around the river to Burma. For over fifty years, Burma has been like a war zone. The Karen people of the region, who consist of peasants and farmers, have lived on viciously tyrannical rule from the murderous Burmese armed forces and have been fighting for survival every single day. This is the time when medical assistance and worldwide support from the Christian missioners is required most. After some consideration, repeated plea, and due to suggestion from his mentor, former military personnel Ed Baumgartner, even with frowning face, Rambo accepts the offer and takes Michael, Sarah, and the rest of the missioners up the river. When the missioners finally arrive at the Karen village, they’re ambushed by the sadistic Major Pa Tee Tint and a slew of Burmese army men. A portion of the villagers and missioners are tormented and brutally murdered, while Tint and his men hold the remainder imprisoned. News soon reaches the minister in charge of the mission and with the help of Ed Baumgartner he hires Rambo to lead a rescue attempt. With 5 young, and extremely diverse soldiers of fortune at his disposal, Rambo has to travel back the river and release the survivors from the clutches of Major Tint in what may be one of his deadliest missions ever.

In my opinion, Rambo is a pleasance of the guiltiest, most complimentary kind. It’s the typical heroes and villains formula on human growth hormones, braided with crack. It fulfills one’s instinctual Neanderthal bloodlust and bursts as many taboos as it embraces. This is a movie that blows big holes in children during commonplace village raids, where furious advance teams lop limbs off the older and rape the ladies — both before and after they are dead. Rambo, unlike everybody close to him, embraces this truth. He’s the daredevil fringe voice of reason in a region where logic left sanity standing at the altar. His answer is the most reasoned — get in there and screw things up. The movie’s ending is happy though, with Rambo’s decision to go back to his hometown in America :D . FYI, even if this movie is a great and full packed of actions and heroic manner, I’m not recommend this movie for kids, since there’s a lot of sadistic behaviour in this movie, and lots fo bloodiest action, it can be scary… :D .

This is my review on Rambo IV : Pearl of The Cobra. Well, Stallone’s productive’s though, I heard some rumors that Rambo V is now being produced… wow…
